The question of whether escort services provide sexual services at different ages is of particular interest given the well-documented trend that younger women are increasingly being hired as prostitutes by older male clients (Sohn 2006). This has been attributed to an age-related decrease in women’s mate value.
In an effort to test this hypothesis across different cultures, advertisements from independent escorts were accessed online in an attempt to determine if they indeed advertised more for their sexual services than older counterparts did.
To this end, charges for all escorts who advertised on an adultwork website were collected and analyzed (Fig.1). The data set was collected over one day in order to guarantee reliable results.
Different Age for Escort Service
Our sample consisted of escorts who advertised either hourly rates for incall or outcall services on the adultwork website. Unfortunately, it seems like these escorts tend to charge more for outcalls (travel expenses etc) than they do for incalls.
A one-way ANOVA was used to determine if age differences in charges existed (Fig.2). Results revealed that there were indeed significant differences in advertised rates for escorts of different ages, with 20-29 year old escorts (and Australian escorts too) more likely to charge higher prices than their 40-50 year old peers.
Strangely, younger escorts were more likely to charge an hourly rate for sexual services than their older counterparts. This data set included a wide variety of escorts from around the world with many advertising charges for outcall services.
Though not statistically significant, the findings from this study did highlight how escorts advertise at different ages and it’s worth taking into account these esoteric details when estimating the cost of your next sexual encounter.
